The purpose of FISE 2011 is to enhance and promote the electric industry as a strategic pillar that contributes to the development of regions, within a setting that increases the opportunities of networking, of doing businesses in Colombian and international markets, and of building alliances even with the educational sector.
In addition, in alliance with Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana, FISE creates academic settings attended by Colombian and international experts to address subjects of interest targeted to show trends and new developments for the different players engaged in the electric industry.
Justification of the Forum:
The availability of electric power in terms of quantity and quality leads the economic development of a region. Its production as well as its use however, faces huge challenges such as demographic conditions and climate change, among others. To face these challenges and guarantee a proper supply requires, among others, infrastructure expansion, resource optimization and power grid maintenance, all framed within Sustainable Development; which in turn justifies hold the forum “Challenges of the Electric Industry for Sustainable Development” at FISE 2011.
Purpose of the Forum:
To provide a setting to share and exchange knowledge, and to create opportunities to face the challenges that the electric industry has in terms of sustainable development.
Target Audience:
Business people, investors, professionals, suppliers, manufacturers and builders engaged to the electric industry; service enterprises, engineering, consultancy and inspection firms; planning and regulation agencies, residential public utilities companies and dealers: distributors of goods in the electric industry, operation and maintenance personnel for power users or producers; educational institutions, technological R&D centers; as well as trade unions that lead and support initiatives for the development and integration of the electric sector.
